Why does Northwest Indiana need another church?

Population Growth

Northwest Indiana is growing rapidly. As of 2023, there are over 500,000 people living in Lake County, with thousands of new people moving here each year!

Everywhere you look, there’s a new development being built and new businesses starting up… and every one of these people needs a Christian community to bring them closer to God.
Family Life

50% of babies born in Lake County are born to single parent homes. Of those babies, 50% are born to a single parent… below the poverty line.

We need churches that are “pro-family,” and can help that baby grow into a lifelong follower of Christ.
Youth

In the next 5 years, 54% of Northwest Indiana residents will be under the age of 25. 6 in 10 young people will graduate high school and never set foot in the church again.

Programs and events can only take our young people so far… they need a relationship with a church family, and with Jesus, that lasts into adulthood.
Spiritual Health

Northwest Indiana is “churched”… but do they have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ? When asked to evaluate the statement “Jesus Christ is the only way of human salvation”, most people either disagreed or strongly disagreed with this basic Christian truth.

We need churches that preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and the salvation that can only come through him.

Our Calling From God:

We believe God is calling us to plant 3 churches in Northwest Indiana by 2036, with a combined budget of $2M per year. This will allow us to invest heavily into local & foreign missions, serving the needs of our local & global community.

To meet this goal, we need a building of our own. A place to call home. A headquarters for our God-given mission.

With our hearts transformed by the grace of God, we want to extend the good news of the gospel to our local community and around the world. Having a building of our own enables us to attract new people and families to events at our home facility and provides us a central location to train and prepare others to go out to reach the nations.

God has always gathered a people to himself: on a mountain, in a field, in a city, to a temple or by a lake. It is our vision for the future to establish and use a place we call our own, that we can devote specifically to the worship of God in design, and a place that allows us the freedom to gather on our own schedule.

Prayer: Back To His Heart

Jesus has made clear his house shall be a house of prayer for all nations. All our efforts and all our plans must be covered by ongoing fervent prayer. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. That applies to a house of worship or any other work of God’s people.
